Rode my bike to work today.
It’s been a while since I did that.
I loved it.
It feels like a little adventure, gotta pick out your route, watch out for traffic, get everything stowed away so it doesn’t fall out of your pockets, you feel the breeze and are less at the mercy of traffic and lights. It’s really great.
Life is better on a bike.
I know some folk wouldn’t say that, but I think it’s true for me.
I was talking with a friend the other day about one benefit of getting older: hopefully you know yourself better. Really this happens with each year. The more you experience, the more you learn about yourself.
There’s a story where Jesus asks a blind guy what he wants. Of course, it’s a pretty simple question…with deep ramifications. There are a lot of ways I could answer that questions, until it’s Jesus asking. I wonder what would come out of my mouth if he were standing in front of me.
Of course, there’s not really a correct answer to the question. But it certainly would help to have a realistic picture of yourself.
